Back to Quiz

  1. The ampacity must be 125% of the full-load current rating, as determined by 430.6(A)(1), or not less than specified in 430.22(A) through (G) [430.22].

  2. The ampacity must be at least the sum of each of the following:
    (1) 125% of the full-load current of the highest rated motor, as determined by 430.6(A).
    (2) Sum of the full-load current ratings of all the other motors in the group, as determined by 430.6(A).
    (3) 100% of the noncontinuous non-motor load .
    (4) 125% of the continuous motor load.
This really should say the sum of ALL of the following or simply "the sum of the following", because "each" implies you would pick one of the four.

  3. Yes, capacitors are covered by Article 460. The conductors must comply with 460.8 and 460.9 [430.27].
  4. Their ampacity must be at least 125% of the the full load secondary current of the motor [430.23(A)].
  5. You must consider any motor application to be continuous unless the nature of the apparatus it drives is such that the motor will not operate continuously with load under any conditions of use [Table 430.22(E) Note].
